There is then at first sight a certain ambivalence in the position of the schools vis à vis the Danish school system, which will become clearer after consideration of their relationship to the school system of the Federal Republic. , or more precisely the SchleswigHolstein, education system: through the teachers.  The result in practice can be an interesting blend, which creates the special nature of the schools, spanning the gap between two education systems.  We shall return to the details of this later.

This morning and all this month, it is their turn to be picked up first; next month they will be the last to be picked up and will be able to sleep a little longer.  Today, however, the ninth and tenth classes are free, preparing for their oral examinations next week.  It makes a difference all the way round, and the last group to be picked up, an hour from now, will complain that they have been waiting longer than usual.  That noise, louder at the front, is surely sufficient to keep us all awake.

Not surprisingly, the distribution of the schools reflects the general picture, and in turn helps to maintain it, for where schools are lacking there is little chance of maintenance of the minority's membership, as the members themselves realize and as sociological studies have indicated (SchulteUmberg, 1975; Svalastoga & Wolf, 1963; Toft, 1982).  6 Therefore any analyis of the BdN has to be seen within the context that it is partially representative both in the sense that it is not always in tune with its members and in the sense that it is deliberately ahead of its members.
